Tottenham Hotspur defender Ashley Phillips has rejoined Stoke City on a season-long loan, marking his second consecutive campaign with the Potters.
The 20-year-old made 39 appearances across all competitions last season and had reportedly drawn interest from Championship rivals Sheffield United. Despite the competition, Stoke secured his return — a move described by the club as a major achievement.
“Ashley loved his time here last season, and that made a big difference,” said Stoke sporting director Jonathan Walters. “Securing his return took significant behind-the-scenes work, and we’re thrilled to have him back.”
Phillips, still awaiting his senior debut with Spurs, referred to the move as “unfinished business” and called it a “no-brainer.”
He becomes the club’s fifth summer signing, joining Aaron Cresswell, Maksym Talovierov, Sorba Thomas, and Divin Mubama as Stoke prepares to kick off the 2025–26 Championship season at home against Derby County on Saturday, August 9.
